Simeon ben Eleazar
(fl. 2nd cent.)
   Palestinian tanna. A contemporary of Judah ha-Nasi, he lived in Tiberias. He is mentioned only infrequently in the Mishnah, but plays an important role in the Tosephta. He was a noted halakhist, aggadist and polemicist.
